Your spectator picks a card, and we all know it gets shuffled back into the deck, vanishing like your last takeaway order after a night out. Then you slap that plate on top and give it a little wave of your hand...
Lo and behold, their card, which was just moments ago nestled in the pack, now makes a grand entrance beneath the plate! Like magic, but without the smoke and mirrors.
Lift the plate, and voilà! It’s an ORDINARY card! Nothing to see here, folks!
Now, let’s flip the script...
Picture this: the spectator's card is now lounging face-up on top of the deck. You put the plate back on it, and voilà! Their card is still clearly visible. But wait — pass your hand over that plate, and just like your hopes on a Monday morning, it disappears! Hand over the plate for inspection, and guess what? There’s still nothing to see!
Did the card really vanish? Go on, shuffle the deck about, or lay it out on the table, and lo and behold, the card pops up face-up in the centre!
