THE EFFECT: Picture this: the performer presents a gift box, regaling the audience with tales of how he bought this gem for his four-year-old niece's upcoming birthday. After a charming yarn about 'coincidences', he invites audience members to call out a colour, an amount of dosh, a lady’s name, and a 'gift' is selected. These choices are scrawled on a whiteboard. A lovely lady is then invited on stage, and SHE pulls out of the box a birthday card addressed to the magician's niece (who just so happens to share the name that was called out) ... coincidence ONE. Next, she produces a gift certificate for the EXACT amount that was called out ... coincidence TWO ... and then, lo and behold, she pulls out the gift that matches her choice AND it’s the exact colour called.
