Nothing But The Truth: A spectator picks a card and hides it away. You, the magician (yes, that's you), pull out a state-of-the-art Lie Detector machine from your pocket. (Alright, it’s actually a small packet of beautifully printed cards that fits snugly in your wallet or purse).
You then grill the spectator with questions. Is your card red or black? Is it a spot card or a court card? Typical stuff. The spectator can choose to be honest or fib like a naughty schoolboy.
Each answer gets inputted into the lie detector (by shuffling one card from the top of the packet to the bottom for each letter in their response), and the new top card is flipped over. Astonishingly, it reveals either the word TRUTH or LIE (depending on whether they were truthful or not)!
But wait, there’s more! In a jaw-dropping flourish, you flip the lie detector packet over to reveal that ALL the cards are duplicates of the spectator's chosen card!
