Magic Shop San Diego is chuffed to bits to unveil this cracking version of the classic Brainwave effect!
Now, the Brainwave deck is a classic for a reason, but let's be honest, it’s got some bits that can be a bit of a pain. Enter Allen Garcia, aka cntrl_shft, who’s taken this old favourite and given it a proper makeover, bringing it into the modern age (goodbye, wrinkles!).
Here's the deal:
You kick things off by asking your spectator to IMAGINE a deck of playing cards. After they’ve given that imaginary deck a good shuffle in their mind, you ask them to think of a card. Once they’ve locked in their choice, you casually point to a deck that’s been chilling on the table the whole time, untouched by your magical hands. You invite the spectator to open it up—remember, you’ve had no clue what they’ve picked. They spread through the cards and pluck out their thought-of card. You then turn the deck over to reveal that every single card is red... except for one lone rebel. The spectator flips over their card, and lo and behold, it’s the only one with a blue back! Talk about a plot twist!
