Effect:

Get a spectator to whip out three coins from their pocket — preferably different ones (because why not?). Then grab three bits of paper from your wallet and lay them out on the table, numbered 1 to 3 on the back. Let them in on your little experiment to see if your hunch is worth a dime. You’ll reveal the results later, so build the suspense!

Invite your spectator to select one of the three coins and toss it high above the table. It spins, it twirls, and – boom – it lands!
“What’s it showing?” you ask. “TAILS!” they shout.
Now, without a hint of force, ask them to place the coin in front of one of the papers — paper #2? Lovely!

Next up, they throw the second coin. It spins beautifully and lands... heads up! They place it in front of one of the remaining papers — paper #3? Spot on!

Finally, it’s time for the last coin, which also lands heads up. Naturally, it goes in front of the last paper, number 1!

Could you have known all this beforehand?

With a sly grin, pick up paper number 1 and flip it over to reveal the big black letters: HEADS!
Absolutely mind-blowing! The coin sits proudly in front of paper number 1, heads side up!

Next, you reveal paper number 2, and surprise, surprise — it’s TAILS! Flip it over, and there it is in black and white. How on earth did you know?

Now for the last one, in front of paper number 3, you slowly reveal HEADS again! It’s a flawless match! A proper mystery, a miracle!

Your spectator flips the coins and decides where they go, yet you’ve known it all along!
