Rudolph and Friends takes a well-trodden principle and gives it a right good twist, resulting in a hilariously interactive routine that's just begging to be part of your Christmas shows.
You kick things off by announcing that you’re about to introduce a rather special bunch of pals who lend a hoof to Santa on Christmas Eve. Together, they form an unbeatable team, spreading joy, delivering presents, and basking in the festive magic. Yes, it’s Rudolph and friends.
First up (phase 1), you show the book, but hold on—no reindeer in sight!
Then you play it off like something’s gone awry and figure out what’s needed to make them appear. It’s all about the magic word, you see. And that magic word is “Corn.” The kids shout it out (phase 2), and when you flip open the book, surprise! Chickens. (Because obviously, that’s what you wanted.)
Realising you’ve made a bit of a blunder, you declare that the correct word isn’t “corn,” but rather “grass.” So, you rally the kids once more to shout the new magic word. And when they do (phase 3), you open the book to reveal zebras. (Because, why not?)
Finally (phase 4), it dawns on you that the magic word isn’t “corn” or “grass”—it’s actually “cookies.” They shout the word “cookies,” and voilà! All the reindeer make a grand entrance.
This is a prime moment to wrap things up with an optional educational nugget: “Each of them, with their unique size, speed, and personality, shows that no matter how different you are, there’s always room for the best kind of friendship.”
This routine has it all. MAGIC, COMEDY, and EDUCATION.
