Effect 1: C.S.I Agents
Here’s how it goes down: you lay the 2 red and black jacks on the table like a couple of bouncers at the club. A spectator picks a card and, just for fun, signs it. Now, let’s hide that card in the piles. The spectator splits the deck into two, while you casually place the black jacks on one pile, face up, and then bury them in the middle. They hold the deck, covering it with their other hand like they’re protecting a treasure. You place the red jacks face up on the other pile and let them get sliced into the deck. After a moment of suspense, you spread out the pile with the red jacks, and voila! There’s the signed card sandwiched right between them. But wait, it gets better! You take the three cards from the pile, ask the spectator to lift their hand, and drop those three face up on their pile. Just like that, the red jacks vanish, and when they spread their pile, the signed card is chilling between the two black jacks. Smooth, right?
Effect 2: Another Sandwich
You’ve got the red and black jacks on the table, keeping it classy. A spectator selects and signs a card, and you cut the deck into piles like a pro. The black jacks are dropped face down into one of those piles, while the signed card gets tucked away between the face up red jacks. Stack those black jacks on top of the other pile, and watch the magic unfold: the selection vanishes from the red jacks, and when the black jacks are flipped, there’s the signed card snugly nestled between them. It’s all about the presentation, folks!
Effect 3: One More Sandwich
This one’s a twist on the previous effect, but now the black jacks are face up from the get-go. Simple, effective, and still dazzling!
Effect 4: One More Sandwich 2
Same premise as Effect 3, just a different handling for those who like to keep things fresh.
Effect 5: La Ville Sandwizcho
Here’s the deal: a spectator takes a card, it disappears into the shuffle, and you call in your trusty sidekicks—the jack of diamonds and the jack of hearts. You spell out “Jack of diamonds,” dealing one card at a time until, surprise, there’s the jack on the last letter. Another shuffle, and you spell to the jack of hearts, revealing it in the same magical fashion. The two red jacks go in the middle of the deck, and when you spread the cards, there’s the selection again. You place the red jacks face down, and the chosen card face up. Now you promise to find the black jacks, and with a flourish, you reveal two cards. Oops! They’re the red jacks again, and the black jacks are now with the chosen card. If you were playing poker, four jacks would be a killer hand, but you casually cut to the four aces, declaring this hand far superior. Aces—four of a kind in any style you fancy!
Effect 6: La Ville Tantalizer Sandwich
A card gets selected and lost in the deck while you enlist the jack of diamonds and the jack of hearts for backup. You deal cards into two piles, and guess what? The chosen card is sandwiched right in the middle. It gets placed face up between the two face down red jacks. You attempt to find the black jacks, and with a snap, you’re holding two cards—yep, the red jacks. They go face up on the table, and surprise, surprise, the other two cards reveal the mates to the chosen card, with the last mate cozying up between those red jacks. You quip that four of a kind is a solid poker hand, but you aim to beat it. Produce the four aces however you like, or deal out five poker hands to end up with those four of a kind aces, and maybe even a royal flush. Now that’s what I call a showstopper!
