Boris Wild's latest brainchild packed with his freshest ideas

In this book, Boris Wild shares his personal twists on classic routines inspired by both contemporary and legendary magicians. His mission? To deliver maximum magical astonishment to your audience (and perhaps leave them questioning reality for a moment).

Inside, you’ll uncover a treasure trove of original variations on beloved card magic themes: mind-blowing divinations, jaw-dropping revelations, dazzling colour changes, and even the audacious Any Card At Any Number (because who doesn’t love a bit of impossible magic?).

This user-friendly book, complete with nearly eighty photos, is designed for clarity. Boris has laid out each routine step-by-step, so you can grasp every phase and master the craft. Most of these tricks can be executed with a borrowed ordinary deck (yes, that’s right, no need for fancy gear).

As a cherry on top, each routine comes with additional variations, allowing you to tweak and personalise them to suit your style with some nifty ideas and techniques.

Boris Wild's Variations will leave both you and your audience utterly bamboozled!

CONTENTS OF THE BOOK
  • Foreword
  • Zoom 9: A routine with a borrowed deck that can be performed live or over Zoom, where the magician finds a chosen card without ever touching the cards and with his back turned until the grand reveal.
  • ARCAAN: An original Any Card At Any Number routine where the magician demonstrates several failed attempts to locate a freely named card, culminating in a miraculous moment where the chosen card invisibly flips over in the deck to a freely selected position.
  • Any Ambitious Card At Any Number: A card chosen by the spectator is lost towards the end of the deck. The spectator names a freely chosen number, and instead of the card magically appearing on top, it rises to the position of the chosen number – which they count to themselves.
  • Predicolor: The magician displays an opaque envelope containing a prediction card, then shows a red deck and asks a spectator to name a number. The magician counts the cards to that number, then reveals the prediction card, which matches the spectator’s card while the remaining cards flaunt their different backs.
  • InvisiQuiz: A freely chosen card from a borrowed deck goes missing. The magician engages the spectator with a series of questions—some serious, others delightfully absurd—spelling out the answers, isolating the last card dealt. Despite not seeing the cards, the magician is certain the chosen card is among those set aside, only to make it vanish and then return it reversed in the packet.
  • Impossible Double Divination: Two spectators each freely select one card while the magician has his back turned. After several shuffles, our magician still manages to guess both cards. (Impressive, right?)
  • Color Changing Chicago: A spectator names a card from a red deck spread face up. The magician turns the deck over to reveal a lone blue-backed card, which, after some clever handling, ends up as the named card amidst a flurry of colour changes that will leave your audience scratching their heads.
  • Technique: The "Cull"
