Handkerchiefs have been in the magician's toolkit since the 1500s, but it wasn’t until the mid-1800s that silk handkerchiefs strutted onto the stage as magical props. Our good friend Robert-Houdin was the first to use silk in a vanishing handkerchief routine (which, fun fact, coincided with his invention of the first pull). Fast forward to 1903, and de Kolta was performing full routines with these silky wonders, as documented in Professor Hoffman's Later Magic. From then on, silks became a staple in the repertoire of conjurers everywhere.

In this DVD, you’ll witness a dazzling array of quirky and magical uses for silk handkerchiefs. Daryl kicks things off with a handkerchief that not only captures ghosts but also has a knack for locating chosen playing cards (talk about a multi-talented piece of fabric!). Next up, Fielding West delivers a hilarious twist on the classic Colour Changing Silk, while Henry Evans pulls a real silk handkerchief out of a photograph (seriously, what can’t this guy do?). Michael Ammar wows us with his signature effect of silver dollars passing through a sheer scarf, and Dai Vernon shares a nifty utility false knot. Paul Wilson then makes a solid metal ring leap onto a silk handkerchief, and Dan Harlan showcases a stunning silk production interlude. Finally, Petrick and Mia work their magic as a knot jumps from one sheer silk to another (because why not?).

Silk magic is enchanting, visually stunning, and, as demonstrated by the talented performers on this DVD, incredibly versatile. Master any of these effects and you’ll have a timeless piece of magic that will leave your audience utterly gobsmacked.
